Run Melbourne

Public transport for Run Melbourne on Sunday 19 June 2026.

Participants can take part in the following running events, commencing at: 

Public Transport is the best way to get to the event as parking will be restricted and road closures will be in force from 3:30am until 1.30pm Sunday 19 July.

Metropolitan train

Additional services for the following lines will arrive prior to the event: 

These additional services will arrive at Flinders Street / Richmond Station between 05:15am and 05:35am approximately.

Please note there will be disruptions on the MTM network for Hurstbridge passengers, with bus replacements running due to scheduled maintenance works.

Metropolitan tram

Getting to Melbourne Olympic Park 

Due to road closures for Run Melbourne, there will be service changes on the Metropolitan Tram Network.

Swanston Street and St Kilda Road 

First tram to 8.30am 

Take Route 1, 6 and 67 trams between Stop 11 Collins Street and Stop 1 Melbourne University.

Flinders Street 

3.30am to 11.30am 

Consider trains between Jolimont Station and the city or Route 48 trams from 9am as an alternative travel option.

First tram to 12.30pm 

Consider trains between Richmond Station and the city as an alternative travel option.

Bourke Street and Spencer Street 

3.30am to 10.15am 

William Street 

First tram to 10.15am

Route 58 trams run between: 

Collins Street and Spencer Street 

First tram to 9am

Consider trains between Jolimont Station and the city or Route 48 trams from 9am as an alternative travel option. 

First tram to 10.15am 

Tram replacement buses use existing tram stops or temporary bus stops where possible, follow signage for directions to the temporary stops.

Regional train

Getting to Docklands 

Regular services will arrive and depart from Southern Cross Station. Passengers are advised to transfer at Southern Cross and board services towards Flinders Street Station or Richmond Station.

Metropolitan bus

Due to road closures for Run Melbourne, there will be service changes on the Metropolitan bus network and the following Routes will be affected:

Route 232 – Altona North – City (Queen Vic Market) First service to 9:30am buses will divert along Wurundjeri Way, Dudley Street, Spencer Street, Lonsdale Street and Queen Street, in both directions. 

Route 234 – Garden City – City (Queen Victoria Market) First service to 10:00am buses will divert to the City along Crockford Street, Ingles Street, Dorcas Street, Sturt Street, Kingsway/King Street, Collins Street, Queen Street and from the City along William Street, Lonsdale Street, King Street/Kingsway, Sturt Street, Dorcas Street, Ferrars Street, City Road. 

Route 235 – City (Southern Cross Station) – Fishermans Bend via Williamstown Road. 

First service to 9:30am buses will divert to the city along Williamstown Road, Ingles Street, Dorcas Street, Sturt Street, Kingsway/King Street, Collins Street and Queen Street, buses will terminate at the bus stop on Queen Street before Bourke Street Stop ID20462 and not service sections of City Road, Queensbridge Street, Flinders Street and Queen Street. 

From first service to 9:30am, services to Garden City and Fishermans Bend will divert along Queen Street, Bourke Street, Kings Street/Kingsway, Sturt Street, Dorcas Street, Ingles Street and Williamstown Rd, buses will commence at the bus stop on Queen Street before Bourke Street Stop ID20462 and not service sections of Queen Street, Flinders Street, Queensbridge Street and City Road. 

The following bus stops will not be serviced during this time for route 232, 234 & 235 (both directions):

Route 605 – Gardenvale – City (Queen Street) 

From 8am to 1pm, services will divert via Punt Road, Hoddle Street, Albert Street and Lonsdale Street to Queen Street in both directions and not service sections of the Botanical Gardens, City Road, Queensbridge Street and Queen Street.
