Youth myki Design Competition

Last year, 11-year-old Charlie took out the top design in the Youth myki Design competition, and you can see his design on all Youth myki’s today.

We’re excited to announce that the Youth myki Design Competition will be returning in 2026!

Key details

• Students aged 5 to 17 are invited to enter a competition to design the new Youth myki card.
• The winning original artwork will feature on Youth myki cards in 2026/2027.
• Download a lesson plan to use in the classroom, featuring an educational video from our artist ambassador, Katie Zhou.
• Download an entry template and get designing! Entry portal will open via Engage Vic on Monday 18 May.

Further information will be provided in the next edition of the newsletter on 19 May, including a promotional kit from the Department of Transport and Planning to help you let your school community know how to get involved. The kit will include the entry form, images and copy for newsletters, social and digital communication channels, and posters for your school.
