DTP Accessibility Action Plan

Our Accessibility Action Plan 2025 – 2029: Towards Equitable Journeys and Communities is now available for you to view.

What is the DTP Accessibility Action Plan?

The Accessibility Action Plan (The Action Plan) is our commitment to reducing and eliminating barriers for people with disability. It outlines what we are doing to improve accessibility across the transport and planning portfolios, while also meeting our obligations under state and federal disability legislation.

What will it deliver?

The Action Plan includes specific accessibility actions from various areas across DTP. This is the first step in delivering on the Transport Accessibility Strategic Framework’s (the Framework) vision, guiding principles and strategic directions.

The Action Plan focuses on positive outcomes for people with disability and builds on the co-design process of the Framework. It expands on actions from the previous plan and includes a range of new accessibility initiatives.

Who was involved?

We’ve engaged extensively with a wide range of stakeholders, including people with disability.

DTP’s Chief Accessibility Advocate and Accessible Transport Advisory Committee were consulted throughout the development of the plan. They provided strategic input and valuable feedback to ensure that actions will deliver meaningful outcomes for people with disability. They will also play a key role in monitoring the implementation of the Action Plan.

Key external stakeholders have also been consulted, including public transport operators and transport and planning partners.

The Action Plan is available in a range of accessible formats such as HTML, plain language summary, an Easy Read document, and Auslan translation. A Braille Master is available by emailing transport.accessibility@ptv.vic.gov.au.
