Australia’s beloved Matildas are set to light up the field once again this May, taking on Argentina in what promises to be an action-packed international friendly.
This is a rare chance for local fans to see some of the biggest names in women’s football live on home soil. Expect fierce competition, spectacular goals, and plenty of green and gold pride as the Matildas continue to inspire a new generation of football fans across the country.

Metropolitan train
Please note buses will be replacing metro trains running between:
- Newport and Werribee, from 10.36pm onwards
- Clifton Hill and Eltham, from 8.43pm onwards
Werribee passengers are advised to board any train to Newport from Platform 14 at Southern Cross station, then change at Newport for a bus to continue their journey.
Hurstbridge passengers are advised to board a Mernda / Clifton Hill train from Platform 9 at Southern Cross station, then change at Clifton Hill for a bus to continue their journey.

- Dandenong – leaving at 10.37pm and 10.52pm
- Frankston – leaving at 10.36pm and 11.05pm from Platform 13
- Sandringham – leaving at 10.27pm and 10.44pm from Platform 13
- Newport – leaving at 10.23pm and 10.42pm from Platform 14
- Sunbury – leaving at 10.29pm and 10.49pm from Platform 14
- Craigieburn – leaving at 10.36pm and 11.03pm from Platform 14

Metropolitan tram
Getting home from Southern Cross
Passengers are to be advised regarding tram track and overhead works along St Georges Road, impacting tram route 11 from 9pm Friday 30 May to last tram Sunday 1 June. Buses will replace Route 11 trams between Stop 12 St Vincent's Plaza/Victoria Parade and Stop 47 West Preston/Gilbert Road. Passengers can catch the Mernda line trains or route 86 trams as an alternative to get home from Southern Cross.
Customers can catch the tram routes 30a & 86a to get to Southern Cross and continue their journey by walking to Marvel Stadium.
Customers are advised to plan their journey using Journey Planner to ensure that they arrive on time for this event.

Getting to and from Southern Cross
Customers can catch the following bus routes to get to Southern Cross and continue their journey by walking to Marvel Stadium.
- Route 232 (Altona North to City)
- Route 235 (Fishermans Bend to City)
- Route 302 (Box Hill to City)
- Route 304 (Doncaster SC to City)
- Route 905 (The Pines SC to City)
- Route 906 (Warrandyte to City)
- Route 907 (Mitcham to City
Regional train
Getting to and from Southern Cross
Please note coaches will be replacing regional trains running between:
- Melton and Ballarat/Ararat/Maryborough, until 8pm Friday 30 May.
- Caroline Springs and Ballarat/Ararat/Maryborough, from 8pm onwards Friday 30 May.
Extra regional services will run in addition to the normal timetable which will operate to and from Southern Cross Station as follows:
- 10.40pm from Southern Cross station to Waurn Ponds (Geelong) via regional train
- 10.40pm from Southern Cross to Seymour via replacement coach services
- 10.57pm from Southern Cross to Bendigo with extra capacity
