Public transport for the King’s Birthday 2025
Public transport services will operate to a public holiday timetable on Monday 9 June, but some services may be altered or will not run.
During public holidays, your daily myki fare is capped at $7.60 ($3.80 for concessions and seniors).
While some concession holders may benefit from free travel on weekends, please note this entitlement does not extend to public holiday weekend timetables. During public holidays, normal myki fare caps apply to all passengers, including seniors.

Before you travel

Metropolitan train
Trains will run to a Saturday timetable with no Night Network services.
Allow extra travel time and plan your journey using Journey planner or checking timetables.
Metropolitan tram
Trams will run to a Saturday frequency with no Night Network services.
Allow extra travel time and plan your journey using Journey planner or checking timetables.
Metropolitan and regional bus
Most metropolitan bus services will run to a Saturday timetable, but some services may be altered or will not run.
- Routes 201, 202, 401 and 601 will run on a weekday timetable.
The following Metropolitan bus routes will not run:
- 301, 403, 407, 414, 415, 490, 503, 506, 536, 538, 551, 558, 559, 671, 672, 677, 681, 682.
- FlexiRide services in Croydon, Lilydale, and Mooroolbark will not run.
Regional Bus Services vary based on the operator. The following routes will operate on Monday 9 June with adjusted timetables.
Local networks operating a Saturday timetable:
- Bendigo - except Routes 63, 64 & Bendigo-Goornong
- Ballarat
- Bacchus Marsh
- Geelong, Torquay and Bellarine Peninsula services
- Kilmore
- Kyneton
- Latrobe Valley – except Routes 6 & 7
- Portland
- Wallan
- Warragul and Garfield to Traralgon
- Warrnambool (including Port Fairy)
Local networks operating a Sunday timetable:
- Mildura (including Red Cliffs and Merbein) – except Routes 600, 601 & 602
Intertown services operating a Saturday timetable:
- Boolarra – Churchill
- Cowes – Wonthaggi
- Genoa – Mallacoota via Gipsy Point
- Heathcote – Bendigo
- Paynesville – Bairnsdale via Paynesville
- Traralgon – Wonthaggi via Inverloch, Leongatha, Mirboo Nth
Intertown services operating a Sunday timetable:
- Coronet Bay – Corinella – Grantville
- Grantville – Coronet Bay via Grantville
- Yarram – Traralgon via Gormandale
Intertown services operating weekend timetable:
- Inverloch & Cowes to Wonthaggi via Anderson & Ventnor
Night Network services will not run.
All other services will not run. To plan ahead, check timetables online or call 1800 800 007 before you travel.

Regional train
V/Line trains will run to a Saturday timetable for the King’s Birthday public holiday on Monday 9 June, except for Swan Hill Line trains which will run to a Sunday timetable.
Bendigo Line
Please note the 3.47pm Eaglehawk to Southern Cross train will depart from Eaglehawk later at 6.48pm. This is due to the service originating at Swan Hill and running to a Sunday timetable.
Regional coach
V/Line coaches will run to an altered timetable.
Night Network services will not run.
