Public transport for MotorEx: Saturday 3 May and Sunday 4 May 2025
MotorEx returns to Melbourne at the Melbourne Showgrounds! Public transport is your best way to enjoy it, with extra services to help you get to and from the Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday 3 May and Sunday 4 May.
The event will run:
- Saturday 3 May: 11am to 7pm
- Sunday 4 May: 11am to 4pm

Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May
Metropolitan train
Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds
Trains will operate from Southern Cross (Platform 8), stopping at North Melbourne (Platform 2), then express to Melbourne Showgrounds (Platform 1).
- From 10:45am, services will operate every 30 minutes.
Before 2:30pm, trains returning to Southern Cross will operate express with passengers.
After 2:30pm, trains returning to Southern Cross will stop via North Melbourne (Platform 1) enroute to Southern Cross.
On Saturday 3 May, the last train to depart from Melbourne Showgrounds will depart at 7:15pm.
On Sunday 4 May, the last train to depart from Melbourne Showgrounds will depart at 4:15pm.

Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds
- Additional Trams will operate via Route 57a from Stop 01 Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street and Stop 32 Sandown Road/ Epsom Road via Flemington Road.
Metropolitan bus
Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds
The following bus route travels close to Melbourne Showgrounds:
- Route 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds via Footscray)
Passengers can catch buses from Footscray Station and alight at Langs Road/Showgrounds.
Regional train
Getting to Melbourne Showgrounds
- Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Melbourne Showgrounds service.

- Passengers are advised to catch any train from Melbourne Showgrounds and alight at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations and change to a regional train.
