ANZAC Day Horse Racing returns to Melbourne at the Flemington Racecourse!

Public transport is your best way to enjoy it, with extra services to help you get to and from the Flemington Racecourse on Friday 25 April.

• Gates Open: 12.30pm
• First Race: 1pm
• Main Race: 3.45pm
• Last Race: 5.05pm

 Metropolitan train

Getting to Flemington Racecourse

Trains will operate from Southern Cross (Platform 8) stopping only at North Melbourne (Platform 2), enroute to Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1).

• From 11.45am, services will depart every 20 minutes.

During the above period, services will return to Southern Cross express with passengers.

The last departure from Southern Cross will be at 2.05pm

Leaving from Flemington Racecourse

Train will operate from Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1), stopping only at North Melbourne (Platform 1) enroute to Southern Cross (Platform 8).

Trains will depart Flemington Racecourse approximately as follows:

• 20 minutes after Race 7: 4.05pm
• 20 minutes after Race 8: 4.45pm
• 20 minutes after Last Race: 5.25pm
• Then depart at: 5.45pm, 6.05pm, 6.25pm

Durning the above period, services will operate to Flemington Racecourse express with passengers.

The final service from Flemington Racecourse will depart at 6.25pm from (Platform 1).

Route 57a

• Additional Trams will operate via Route 57a from Stop 01 Flinders Street / Elizabeth Street and Stop 32 Sandown Road/ Epsom Road via Flemington Road.

Getting to and from Flemington Racecourse

The following bus route travels close to Flemington Racecourse: 

• Route 472 (Williamstown to Moonee Ponds via Footscray) 

Passengers can catch buses from Footscray Station and alight at Langs Road/Showgrounds. 

 Regional train

Getting to Flemington Racecourse

Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Flemington Racecourse service.

Passengers are advised to catch any train from Flemington Racecourse and alight at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations and change to a regional train.
