Going to the Avalon Airshow?

Extra services to get you to the airfield and back

Record-breaking crowds are set to descend again on Avalon Airport for the Avalon Australian International Airshow 2025.

Extra V/Line services will run on the Geelong line from Friday to Sunday to and from the airshow. Regional fare cap makes travelling from Melbourne to the airshow the quickest and most affordable way to get there and back home. Fares are capped at $11 on weekdays, $7.60 on weekends and $3.80 for concession holders.

Dedicated shuttle buses will run between Lara Station and the Airshow connecting with extra train services.

Extreme delays and long queues are expected for the duration of the Airshow on the Princes Freeway and roads surrounding Avalon Airport. If you must drive to the Airshow, be prepared for significant hold ups.

The Avalon Airshow will be running Park and Ride services for the first time to get people to and from the main gate.

There is no free parking. Parking passes must be pre-purchased ($35 to $65). Please follow the instructions on your ticket instead of using navigation apps to reach the carpark.

If you're driving between Melbourne and Geelong please allow extra time for your journey, as delays are expected on the freeway and roads near the event. Consider catching the train or detouring via the Western Freeway and Bacchus Marsh.
