2025 regional timetable change
From 13 April 2025, a new regional train timetable will start with 50 new or extended weekend services being added across the Ballarat, Ararat, Warrnambool and Bendigo lines.
Timetables and more information will be available on this page from mid-March 2025.
Ballarat Line changes
- 33 new weekend services will be added to the Ballarat Line, with trains running every 40 minutes between 8 am and 9 pm on weekends.
- Most weekend bus services that connect to trains on the Ballarat Line will also run every 40 minutes.
Ararat Line changes
- Eight new weekend services will be added to the Ararat Line, including a 9:15pm Saturday service from Southern Cross to Ararat.
Bendigo Line changes
- Five new weekend services will be added to the Bendigo Line, including late-night trains from Melbourne to Bendigo.
- Five Bendigo services will switch to 6-car VLocity trains from 3-car trains, providing more seats on the Bendigo Line.
Warrnambool Line changes (From 14 April 2025)
- Four new weekend services will be added to the Warrnambool Line.
- For the first time, passengers on the Warrnambool Line will also have access to modern and reliable VLocity trains on all weekend and weekday services.
- Two Geelong Line trains will be extended through to Waurn Ponds Station every weekday morning, giving passengers in Waurn Ponds more travel options.
