Horse racing returns to Melbourne at the Flemington Racecourse!

Public transport is your best way to enjoy the action and we're running extra services to help you get home from Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 1 March.

• Gates Open: 11am
• First Race: 12:05pm
• Main Race: 4:20pm
• Last Race: 5:40pm

 Metropolitan train

Getting to and from Flemington Racecourse

Trains run from Southern Cross (Platform 8), stopping at North Melbourne (Platforms 1/2), Melbourne Showgrounds (Platforms 1) then Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1).

• From 10:45am, trains leave every 20 minutes.
• From 1:05pm, trains leave every 30 minutes.

Before 12pm, trains return express with passengers and not stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

From 12pm, trains stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

• From 3:35pm, trains to Flemington Racecourse do not stop at Melbourne Showgrounds.
• From 4:40pm, trains to Southern Cross do not stop at Melbourne Showgrounds.

The last train from Flemington Racecourse is at 7:09pm.

Getting to and from Flemington Racecourse

Extra Route 57a trams run from 11am to midnight between Stop 1 Flinders Street/Elizabeth Street and Stop 32 Sandown Road/Epsom Road via Flemington Road.

Catch a Route 472 bus from Footscray Station to Langs Road/Showgrounds. 

 Regional train

Getting to Flemington Racecourse

Catch a Melbourne Showgrounds train from North Melbourne or Southern Cross stations.

Leaving the Flemington Racecourse

Catch any train from Melbourne Showgrounds to Southern Cross or North Melbourne Stations and change to a regional train.
