Public transport for The Pet Show: Saturday 1 March and Sunday 2 March 2025

The Pet Show returns to Melbourne at the Melbourne Showgrounds!

Public transport is your best way to enjoy the action and we're running extra services to help you get home from the Melbourne Showgrounds on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 March 2025.

The event runs on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 6pm.

Saturday 1 March

 Metropolitan train

Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds

Trains run from Southern Cross (Platform 8), stopping at North Melbourne (Platforms 1/2), then express to Melbourne Showgrounds (Platforms 1).

• From 9:45am, trains leave every 30 minutes.
• From 10:45am, trains leave every 20 minutes.
• From 1:05pm, trains leave every 30 minutes.

From 10:45am, trains extend from Melbourne Showgrounds to Flemington Racecourse, for the Howden Guineas Race Day.

Before 12pm, trains return express with passengers and not stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

From 12pm, trains stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

The last train from Southern Cross to the Showgrounds leaves at 3:38pm.

The last train from the Showgrounds to Southern Cross leaves at 4:16pm.

Extra Route 57a trams run from Stop 01 Flinders Street/Elizabeth Street and Stop 32 Sandown Road/Epsom Road via Flemington Road.

Catch a Route 472 bus from Footscray Station to Langs Road/Showgrounds. 

 Regional train

Getting to Melbourne Showgrounds

Catch a Melbourne Showgrounds train from North Melbourne or Southern Cross stations.

Leaving the Melbourne Showgrounds

Catch any train from Melbourne Showgrounds to Southern Cross or North Melbourne Stations and change to a regional train.

Sunday 2 March

 Metropolitan train

Getting to and from Melbourne Showgrounds

Trains run from Southern Cross (Platform 8), stopping at North Melbourne (Platform 2), then express to Melbourne Showgrounds (Platforms 1).

• From 9:45am, trains leave every 30 minutes.

Before 12pm, trains return express with passengers and not stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

From 12pm, trains stop via North Melbourne enroute to Southern Cross.

The last train from Southern Cross to the Showgrounds leaves at 3:45pm.

The last train from the Showgrounds to Southern Cross leaves at 4:15pm.
