Public transport for VRC Standish Handicap Raceday: Saturday 11 January 2025

A highlight on the summer racing calendar, the VRC Standish Handicap Race Day is at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 11 January 2025, with extra train services running to get you there and back.

All services will operate to a normal Saturday timetable, with additional services running to get to you and from the races at Flemington.

• Last Race: 5.48pm

Train services on all lines will run to a Saturday timetable. There will be no Night Network services.

Getting to the Racecourse

Trains will depart Southern Cross platform 8 every 20 minutes from 11:14am until 1:14pm, stopping at North Melbourne’s platform 2 around 3 minutes later then run express onto Flemington Racecourse. 

No trains operate between 1:15pm and 4:22pm. From 4:23pm trains resume and run express through North Melbourne.

Leaving the Racecourse

Services will depart Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1) and initially run express to North Melbourne (Platform 1) to Southern Cross (Platform 8).

After the races, the first train departs at 4:39pm and from then onwards trains will stop at North Melbourne. From 5:59pm there will be a train every 20 minutes until the last train leaves at 6:59pm.

Getting to and from the Racecourse

Trams will operate to a normal Saturday frequency on tram Route 57. This route operates between Flinders Street Station and West Maribyrnong. Tram Stop 30: Flemington Racecourse is closest to the event.
