Improved Torquay and Armstrong Creek bus network
The improved bus network in Geelong, Charlemont, Armstrong Creek, Torquay and Jan Juc is matching travel demands of the local communities by creating better coordinated, frequent and reliable bus services with improved access to jobs, education, shops and health facilities.
The community and visitors can now choose from an extra 500 weekly bus services, including 4 new routes along the Surf Coast Highway in each direction, with:
- Route 53 service between Geelong and Torquay
- Route 52 service between Marshall Station and Jan Juc
- Route 54 service between Marshall Station and Torquay
The improved bus network has additional services with double the number of weekly trips between Bell Street Torquay and stations on the Geelong railway line.
In Jan Juc, services are spread out evenly, improving consistency and reliability for passengers.
Connections to important locations have been improved, including connections to Belmont High Street, Armstrong Creek town centre, Torquay Beach, train connections at Marshall Station, Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre, Deakin University and Portarlington ferry services.
What’s new?
- Route 52 Jan Juc (Torquay) – Marshall Station provides a local service between Jan Juc, Torquay, Torquay West, Armstrong Creek, Charlemont and Marshall Station via the Surf Coast Highway and Boundary Road.
- Route 53 Torquay (Bell Street) – Geelong Station provides a fast and direct service between Torquay, Torquay North, Armstrong Creek, Belmont, Geelong CBD and Geelong Station via the Surf Coast Highway and High Street.
- Route 54 Torquay (Bell Street) – Marshall Station provides a local service between Bell Street Torquay, Horseshoe Bend Road, Torquay Armstrong Creek’s growing areas, Charlement to Marshall Station via Surf Coast Highway and Burvilles Road.
- Route 45 Armstrong Creek – Waurn Ponds SC via Waurn Ponds Station provides extended access along Central Boulevard to service Oberon High School and nearby housing estates.
- Route 55 Geelong Station – Ocean Grove via Barwon Heads has improved connectivity with Central Geelong and some buses from Jan Juc.
- Route 60 has improved connectivity between Geelong and the Portarlington Ferry.
- A late Friday night V/Line return service from Torquay to Lorne via Angelsea is being trialled.
