Public transport for the Lions International Convention – Saturday 22nd and Tuesday 25th June 2024

Melbourne will host the 106th Lions International Convention, set to welcome Lions Club members from across the globe to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC). Extra services will help you get to and from MCEC on Saturday 22nd and Tuesday 25th June.
A Lions International Parade will also be held within the Botanical Gardens on Saturday 22nd June from 10am to 2pm.

Please note no trams will be running via Flinders Street between Stop 6 Russell Steet and Stop D6 Flinders Street West from 9pm Friday 21 June to 11.30pm Sunday 23 June. Please visit the Big Build website here for further information.

Metropolitan train
Regular services operate to and from Flinders Street and Southern Cross Stations. Passengers can exit the stations and walk via Flinders Street and Spencer Streets to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre (MCEC).

Getting to and from MCEC
Passengers can board tram services within the Free Tram Zone and alight at Stop 124 Batman Park on Spencer Street, to make their way across Spenser Street bridge towards MCEC.
Passengers travelling outside of the Free CBD Tram Zone will need to ensure they have a valid Myki card and touch off when alighting and departing trams. Please note, Stop 124A Casino/MCEC/Clarendon Street is outside the Free CBD Tram Zone.

Route 109
Additional shuttle trams will operate on Route 109 via Collins and Spenser Streets between St Vincent’s Plaza and Stop 124 A: Casino/ MCEC for passengers attending the following Lions International Convention functions at MCEC:
- From 5pm to 9pm, Saturday 22 June 2024, Lions Convention Show
- From 8:30am to 1pm, Tuesday 25 June 2024, Lions Convention Plenary Show
Regional train
Regular services will operate to and from Southern Cross Station.

Route 605
Passengers please note that due to the Lions International Parade, there will be service disruptions to Route 605 services on Saturday 22 June.
