New bus network for Torquay and Armstrong Creek

From 2 June 2024 new timetables will be introduced to the Geelong, Charlemont, Armstrong Creek, Torquay and Jan Juc bus network that will better match the travel demands of the community.

Armstrong Creek, Charlemont, and Torquay residents will benefit from more frequent, fast and reliable bus services, improving access to jobs, education, shops and health facilities.

The community and visitors will be able to choose from an extra 500 weekly bus services, including about four buses an hour along the Surf Coast Highway in each direction, with a new Route 53 service between Geelong and Torquay, a new Route 52 service between Marshall Station and Jan Juc and a new Route 54 service between Marshall Station and Torquay.

We’re adding additional services, doubling the number of weekly trips between Bell Street Torquay and stations on the Geelong railway line.

We’re improving connections to important locations such as Belmont High Street, Armstrong Creek town centre, Torquay Beach, train connections at Marshall Station, Waurn Ponds Shopping Centre, Deakin University and Portarlington ferry services.

In 2022 and 2023, we asked the community what bus network changes were needed. We listened, and now we’re making changes to deliver a more frequent and direct bus network, offering better coverage in fast-growing areas. View our community consultation feedback here.
