Getting to and from Albert Park: Thursday 21 March and Friday 22 March
Schools Program attendees who have their tickets may enter at any gate.
Metropolitan train
No additional trains run. All trains operate to their normal daily timetable.
Passengers can get to and from the track using the following options:
Gates 1, 2 and 3
- Train to Southern Cross Station, then connect with GP shuttle trams on Spencer Street
Gates 5, 8, 9 and 10
- Train to Flinders Street Station, then connect with St Kilda Road trams (except Route 1)
Your Grand Prix ticket cannot be used to travel free on trains, but on trams only.

Metropolitan Tram
Passengers travelling to the track can use their Grand Prix ticket to travel free on GP shuttle trams—you don’t need to use your myki!
Gates 1 and 2, 5:30am to 8pm Thursday and 5:30am to 10pm Friday
- GP shuttle trams run express between Stop 122 Southern Cross Station and Stop 130 Middle Park.
- Express buses run from Stop 122 Southern Cross Station via Crown Casino to Gates 1 and 2 via Clarendon Street and Canterbury Road.
Gates 3, 5:30am to 8:00pm
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 122 Southern Cross Station and Gate 3, running express between Southern Cross Station and Gate 3 on Albert Rd.
- Express buses run from Crown Casino to Gates 1, 2 and 3 (Friday).
Gates 5, 8, 9 & 10
- GP Shuttle trams run between Stop 13 Flinders Street Station / Federation Square and Stop 30 St Kilda Junction
- GP shuttle trams operate between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station and Stop 138 Luna Park (Friday)
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station, LaTrobe St and Stop 32 Chapel St.

Please note that the following trams services will be impacted to accommodate Grand Prix:
First to last tram
Route 30
- Route 30 trams will not run. La Trobe Street passengers can connect to diverting Route 12 trams to continue (Wednesday to Sunday)
Route 35 (City Circle)
- Route 35 trams will not run (Wednesday to Sunday)
Route 82
- Buses replace Route 82 trams along full route (Thursday to Sunday)
From 5am to 10pm each day
Route 96
- Route 96 trams run a shortened service between East Brunswick and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station.
- Buses replace Route 96 trams between Stop 3 William Street and Stop 138 Luna Park. Stop 139 Acland Street will not be serviced by trams or replacement buses.
Route 86
- Route 86 trams run a shortened service between Stop 25 Clifton Hill Interchange and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station.
- Buses replace trams between Stop 24 Michael St / Queens Pde and Bundoora.
Metropolitan bus
All buses operate to their normal daily timetable.
Passengers are advised that their Grand Prix ticket cannot be used to travel on buses, but on GP shuttle trams only.

Regional train
No additional trains run. All trains operate to their normal daily timetable.
Gates 1, 2 and 3
- Passengers arriving at Southern Cross Station can catch a GP shuttle tram on Spencer Street from Stop 122 Southern Cross Station/Spencer Street.
Gates 5, 8, 9 and 10
- Passengers arriving at Southern Cross Station, can change to a Flinders Street Station train and then catch a St Kilda Road tram, except Route 1 from Stop 13 Federation Square/Swanston Street.

Metropolitan train
Gates 1, 2 and 3
- Train to Southern Cross Station, then connect with GP shuttle trams on Spencer Street
Gates 5, 8, 9 and 10
- Train to Flinders Street Station, then connect with one of the following trams:
- GP shuttle trams (between Flinders Street Station and Luna Park via Fitzroy Street)
- GP shuttle trams (between Melbourne Central Station and Windsor Station/Chapel Street).
Your Grand Prix ticket cannot be used to travel free on trains, but on GP shuttle trams only.

Metropolitan tram
Passengers travelling to the track can use their Grand Prix ticket to travel free on GP shuttle trams.
Gates 1 and 2, 5:30am to 10pm
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 122 Southern Cross Station and Stop 130 Middle Park, running express between Southern Cross Station and Gate 1 and 2.
Gate 3, 5:30am to 10pm
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 122 Southern Cross Station and Gate 3 running express between Southern Cross Station and Gate 3 on Albert Rd.
- Normal Route 12 trams stopping all stops along Clarendon Street (except Stop 124a Batman Park, Stop 124 Crown Casino and Stop 125 Clarendon Street Junction)
- Express buses run from Crown Casino to Gates 1, 2 and 3 via Clarendon Street and Canterbury Road.
Gates 5, 8, 9 and 10, 5.30am to 10pm
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 13 Flinders Street Station/Federation Square and Stop 30 St Kilda Junction
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station and Stop 138 Lunar Park.
- GP shuttle trams run between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station, LaTrobe St and Stop 32 Chapel St.

Route 58
- Route 58 trams run shortened service between West Coburg and Stop 116 City Rd. Buses replace trams between Stop 115 Casino / Southbank and Toorak.
Route 64
- Route 64 trams run a shortened service between East Brighton and Stop 38 Orrong Rd connecting with Route 5.
Route 82
- Buses replace Route 82 trams along full route (Thursday to Sunday).
From first tram to 10pm each day
Use Grand Prix shuttle trams along St Kilda Road to connect between services.
Route 1
- Route 1 trams run in two sections, with no trams between Stop 7 RMIT University and Stop 17 Sturt Street.
Route 3a and 16
- Route 3a and 16 trams run shortened service between East Malvern/Kew and Stop 138 Luna Park.
Route 5
- Route 5 trams run between Malvern East and Stop 30 St Kilda Junction (first tram to 4pm and 8pm to 10pm).
Route 6
- Route 6 trams run in sections with no trams between Stop 8 Melbourne Central Station and temporary stop in High St at St Kilda Road.
Route 12 and 109
- Route 12 and 109 trams run express between Stop 1 Southern Cross Station and City Road/Southbank Depot.
Route 72
- Route 72 trams run a shortened service between Camberwell and a temporary stop in Commercial Road at St Kilda Road.
From 5am to 10pm each day
Route 86
- Route 86 trams run a shortened service between Docklands and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station/Bourke Street.
- Buses replace Route 86 trams between Stop 24 Michael St/Queens Parade and Bundoora.
Route 96
- Route 96 trams run a shortened service between East Brunswick and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station/Bourke Street.
- Buses replace Route 96 trams between Stop 3 William Street and Stop 138 Luna Park. Stop 139 Acland Street will not be serviced by trams or replacement buses.
Route 109
- Route 109 trams run express between Stop 1 Southern Cross Station and Stop 125a Southbank Tram Depot.
From 7am to 10pm each day
Route 67
- Route 67 trams run a shortened service between Carnegie and Stop 30 St Kilda Junction.

Ticketing
2024 Grand Prix ticket holders can travel free on Grand Prix shuttle trams in Melbourne. You must show your Grand Prix ticket if requested by public transport staff.
Please note, you cannot travel on trains, buses or coaches using your Grand Prix ticket. You must have a valid myki card or ticket to travel.
