Extra services will help you get to and from the MCG on Friday 16, Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 February.
The event gate opens at 4:30pm.
Before you travel

Public transport and walking options to the MCG
- Catch a train to Jolimont Station for a five-minute walk through Yarra Park directly to the MCG.
- Catch a train to Richmond Station to walk via Punt Road Oval to the Shane Warne Stand side of the MCG.
- To get to Richmond Station from the city, take any train on the Lilydale, Belgrave, Alamein, Glen Waverley, Pakenham, Cranbourne, Frankston or Sandringham lines.
- Tram routes 48a and 75/75a connect with the Eastern suburbs and stop just outside the MCG.
- Tram routes 70/70a travel along Flinders Street and detours via Melbourne Park. You can then walk from the tram stop across the footbridge to the MCG.
- If you are coming from Southern Cross Station you can:
- Catch a Mernda or Hurstbridge line train to Jolimont Station.
- Catch a Lilydale, Belgrave, Frankston or Glen Waverley line train to Richmond Station.
- Catch a Route 70 or 75 tram from Stop 1 on the corner of Spencer and Flinders Streets.
- Catch a Route 48 tram from Stop D14 from the corner of Spencer and Collins Streets.
Information for interstate visitors
- The Skybus leaves every 15 minutes from Melbourne Airport to Southern Cross Station. There are kiosks inside and outside the airport to purchase tickets.
- Download the free PTV mobile app for Android and iOS and access public transport information and updates on the go.
- myki is your ticket to travel on trains, trams and buses in Melbourne. You can purchase a myki card from a myki machine at Melbourne Airport at T2 and T4, the PTV hub at Southern Cross Station, myki machines at stations and at myki retail outlets including 7-Eleven. For Android users, Mobile myki is available to download on the Google Wallet app.
- If your tram journey starts or finishes outside the Free Tram Zone, make sure you touch on when you board to ensure you have a valid ticket. Tram announcements will tell you when you are entering and leaving the Free Tram Zone.
- If you are staying in the city, you can walk to the MCG via the William Barak Bridge which you access from Birrarung Marr near Federation Square.
For people needing mobility assistance
- The MCG mobility shuttle service, the 'G Train, will pick you up from Richmond or Jolimont stations. The service is free and pre-booking is not required. View The 'G Train map here.
- Travellers Aid Australia can assist travellers with accessibility requirements to reach their destination safely and confidently. Travellers Aid is located at Southern Cross and Flinders Street Station.

Normal services will operate until approximately 1am. After 1am, Night Trains run direct to/from Flinders Street Station every 60 minutes on all lines, except Stony Point and Flemington.
