This year the Australia Day public holiday falls on Friday 26 January 2024.

Most public transport services will operate to a Saturday timetable, but some services may be altered or will not run.

Moonee Valley Bus Lines Routes 503 and 506 will not run.

The following regional services will run on Australia Day to various timetables. All other regional bus services will not run.

On Australia Day, V/Line train and coach services will operate to a Saturday timetable with the following alterations.

Night Coaches will operate to a normal Saturday timetable.

The Overland – Melbourne – Adelaide

The Overland service from Adelaide to Melbourne will operate as per Friday schedule.

Canberra – Bairnsdale

Coach service from Canberra to Bairnsdale will operate as school holidays Sunday timetable.

The Bairnsdale to Canberra service will not run.

Geelong/Apollo Bay

Melbourne – Mildura

Wangaratta - Mount Beauty

Melbourne – Mallacoota

Narooma – Mallacoota
