Public transport for Run Melbourne 2023: Sunday 16 July 2023
Run Melbourne returns in 2023, taking in some of Melbourne’s iconic landmarks such as Melbourne’s Grand Slam Oval, Southbank Promenade, Docklands Harbour and the Botanical Gardens.
Customers are advised that there will be extensive road closures around Melbourne resulting in service changes and will need to plan ahead.

Metropolitan train
Please note that due to ongoing Maintenance and Big Build works, there will be disruptions and bus replacements for Metro Trains and VLine customers and customers are advised to plan ahead.
Frankston Line.
Buses are replacing trains between South Yarra and Moorabbin stations. Read more.
Cranbourne and Pakenham lines.
Buses are replacing trains between Richmond and Oakleigh stations. Read more.
Hurstbridge and Mernda lines.
Buses are replacing trains between Parliament and Heidelberg stations. Read more.

Metropolitan tram
Tram services on routes 11, 12, 48, 109, 70, 75, 30, 35, 86, 96 and 58 will be impacted from 4am to 12:15pm.

Metropolitan bus
Route 232
Inbound will run via Collins Street to Queen Street and then terminate at Bourke Street.
Outbound Services will then depart Queen Street and run via Bourke Street, William Street to Collins Street from first service to 9:30am.
Route 234
Inbound services will divert from Crockford Street via Ingles Street, Dorcas Street, Sturt Street, Kings Way, King Street, Collins Street to Queen Street and terminate at Bourke Street.
Outbound services will depart Queen Street and run via Bourke Street to Kings Street and run the reverse route to Crockford Street from first service to 9:30am.
Route 235
Outbound services will divert from Queen Street via Bourke Street, King Street, Kings Way, Sturt Street, Dorcas Street, Ingles Street to Williamstown Road, from first service to 9:30am.
Due to this the following stops will not be serviced:
- Boundary Street/Crockford Street
- Pickles Street/Crockford Street
- Montague Street/City Road
- Ferrars Street/City Road
- Cecil Street/City Road
- Clarendon Street/City Road
- City Road/Queens Bridge Street
- Casino/Southbank/Queens Bridge Street
- Flinders Street/Queens Bridge Street
- Ingles Street/Normanby Road
- Montague Street/Normanby Road
- Collins Square/Batmans Hill Drive
- Southern Cross Station/Collins Street
Route 605
Services in both directions will divert via Punt Road, Albert Street and Lonsdale Street to Queen Street from first service to 12pm.
Due to this the following stops will not be serviced:

- Domain Road/Birdwood Avenue
- Melbourne Observatory/Birdwood Avenue
- Victorian College of the Arts/Southbank Boulevard
- City Road/Southbank Boulevard
- Casino/Southbank/Queens Bridge Street
- Market Street/Flinders Street
- Flinders Lane/Queen Street
- Bourke Street/Queen Street
- Banana Alley Vaults/Flinders Street
- Kavanagh Street/Southbank Boulevard
- Shrine of Remembrance/Birdwood Avenue

Regional train
Due to the West Gate Tunnel project, there be some disruptions to the Geelong, Bendigo and Ballarat Lines from the beginning of July, with major improvement works continuing to impact Gippsland Line passengers. Customers are advised to plan ahead.
