Public transport for Run For The Kids: Sunday 19 March 2023
There are a number of additional services and public transport service changes in place for Run For The Kids on Sunday 19 March.

Metropolitan train
Forward service to Southern Cross Station:
Please note: all arrival times are for Southern Cross Station.
- Camberwell at 7:14am and 8:25am, arriving at 7.30am and 8.41am
- Glen Waverley at 6:27am and 8:18am, arriving at 7:02am and 8:53am
- Heidelberg at 7:06am and 8:21am, arriving at 7:37am and 8:53am
- Mernda at 6:16am and 8:02am, arriving at 7:13am and 9:00am
- Pakenham at 6:07am and 7:27am, arriving at 7:22am and 8:42am
- Frankston at 6am and 7:48am, arriving at 7:13am and 9:00am
- Sandringham at 6:43am and 8am, arriving at 7:22am and 8:36am
- Werribee at 6:33am and 8am, arriving at 7:11am and 8:41am
- Craigieburn at 6:38am and 8:05am, arriving at 7:20am and 8:49am
- Upfield at 6:52am and 8:17am, arriving at 7:22am and 8:47am
For customers travelling on additional services on the Mernda, Hurstbridge, Belgrave, Lilydale, Glen Waverley, Frankston and Sandringham lines, please remain onboard at Flinders Street as services will continue to Southern Cross Station to get you to the Start Line on Harbour Esplanade.
There will be changes and replacement buses for part of the journey on the following lines. Passengers are advised to check the disruptions articles for further information:
- Belgrave and Lilydale lines – Replacement Buses
- Hurstbridge Line – Replacement Buses
- Sunbury Line – Replacement Buses
- Upfield Line – Replacement Buses
- Belgrave, Lilydale and Glen Waverley lines – No Loop services, direct to Flinders Street
- Craigieburn, Upfield and Sunbury – No Loop services, direct to Flinders Street

Metropolitan tram
Getting to Docklands
Due to road closures for Run for the Kids, there will be tram service changes.
Trams on Routes 11, 12, 30, 35, 48, 58, 70, 75, 86, 96 and 109 will experience temporary service changes from first service until 6pm.
Route 11
- From first tram to 6pm, Route 11 services will run between Stop 47 West Preston/Gilbert Road and Stop 1 Spencer Street/Collins Street.
Route 12
- From first tram until 1.30pm, Route 12 services will run in two sections: between Stop 143 Fitzroy Street/Park Street and Stop 124 Batman Park/Spencer Street, and between Stop 25 River Boulevard/Victoria Street and Stop 1 Spencer Street/Collins Street.
Routes 30 and 35 (City Circle)
- No trams will operate from first tram until 6pm.
Route 48
- From first tram until 6pm, Route 48 services will run a shortened service between Stop 51 Balwyn Road/Doncaster Road and Stop 1 Spencer Street/Collins Street.
Route 58
- From first tram to 1.30pm, Route 58 services will run in two sections: between Stop 45 Bell Street/Melville Road and Stop 4 Collins Street/William Street, and between Stop 139 Glenferrie Road/Toorak Road and Stop 116 City Road/Kings Way.
Routes 70 and 75
- From first tram until 1.30pm, Route 70 services will run between Stop 61 Elgar Road and Stop 2 Melbourne Aquarium.
- From 1.30pm until 6pm, Route 70 services will run between Stop 61 Elgar Road and Stop D6 Flinders Street West.
Route 86
- From 2am until 6pm, Route 86 services will run between Stop 71 McKimmies Road/Plenty Road and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station/Spencer Street.
Route 96
- From 5.30am to 1.30pm, Route 96 services will run in two sections: between Stop 139 Acland Street and Stop 124 Batman Park, and between Stop 23 Blyth Street and Stop 1 Southern Cross Station.
Route 109
- From 5.30am to 1.30pm, Route 109 services will run in two sections: between Stop 58 Box Hill Central/Whitehorse Road and Stop 1 Spencer Street/Collins Street, and between Stop 129 Beacon Cove/Light Rail and Stop 124 Batman Park/Spencer Street.

Normal services arrive and depart from Southern Cross Station.
