We're running extra trams and trains to get passengers to all the fun and excitement of the Melbourne Royal Show!

No car parking on Saturday 1 October 2022

Due to the races on Saturday 1 October at Flemington there will be no public parking at the Melbourne Royal Show. Public transport is the only way to get there.

Before you travel

We strongly encourage you to register your myki. With a registered myki you can protect your myki balance if the card is lost or stolen, check your travel history and manage multiple myki cards in the one account.

When travelling on public transport you must wear a fitted face mask covering your nose and mouth unless you have a lawful reason for not doing so, and ensure you wear it for your entire journey.

Metropolitan train

To the Showgrounds:

The first train will depart Flinders Street Station (Platforms 10) at 9.10am, stopping at Southern Cross (Platform 14) and North Melbourne (Platform 6) stations, then running express to Melbourne Showgrounds, arriving at 9.23am.

Train services from Flinders Street to the Showgrounds will then operate:

9.10am to 5.50pm: every 10 minutes
6.04pm to 9.51pm: every 15 minutes

From the Showgrounds:

Train services from the Showgrounds to Flinders Street will operate:

9.29am to 6.00pm: every 10 minutes
6.15pm to 10.30pm: every 15 minutes

The last train to depart the Showgrounds will be at 10.30pm.

Metropolitan tram

Additional trams will operate on Route 57 from 8.30am as Route 57a between Stop 1 Flinders Street Station/Elizabeth Street and Stop 32 Sandown Road/Epsom Road.

Service frequencies:

Public Holiday & Saturday: every 7-10 minutes

Getting to and from the Showgrounds

The following bus route travels close to the Showgrounds:

Route 472(Williamstown to Moonee Ponds via Footscray)

Passengers can catch buses from Footscray Station and alight at Langs Road/Showgrounds.

Regional train

Getting to the Melbourne Showgrounds

Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Melbourne Showgrounds / Racecourse service.

Passengers are advised to catch any train from Melbourne Showgrounds and alight at Southern Cross or North Melbourne stations and change to a regional train.
