Public transport for VRC Turnbull Raceday: Saturday 1 October 2022
Extra public transport services are running to and from VRC Turnbull Stakes Raceday at Flemington Racecourse on Saturday 1 October 2022.
Gates open: 10.35am
First race: 12.10pm
Before you travel
We strongly encourage you to register your myki. With a registered myki you can protect your myki balance if the card is lost or stolen, check your travel history and manage multiple myki cards in the one account.
When travelling on public transport you must wear a fitted face mask covering your nose and mouth, unless you have a lawful reason for not doing so, and ensure you wear it for your entire journey. This applies to anyone eight years old and over.
A mask is also highly recommended at tram and bus stops and on train station platforms where a safe distance (1.5m) from others cannot be maintained.

Metropolitan train
Getting to the Racecourse
Train services will operate from Flinders Street Station (Platform 10) to Flemington Racecourse stopping at Southern Cross Station (Platform 14) North Melbourne (Platform 6), Melbourne Showgrounds (Platform 1), and then to Flemington Racecourse Station (Platform 1).
Trains depart Finders Street Station from:
- 10.50am until 2.18pm every 10 minutes
Leaving the Racecourse
Train services will operate from Flemington Racecourse (Platform 1) to Flinders Street Station (Platform 10) Southern Cross Station, stopping at Melbourne Showgrounds (Platform 1), North Melbourne (Platform 6), Southern Cross Station (Platform 13) into Flinders Street Station (Platform 10).
Trains to depart from:
- 4.15pm until 7:10pm every 10 minutes

Passengers can catch a Route 57 tram, alighting at Stop 29 Racecourse Road/Flemington Racecourse.

Getting to the Racecourse
Passengers arriving at North Melbourne and Southern Cross stations are advised to change trains and catch a Racecourse service.
